Jordan focuses his practice primarily on all facets of construction law, including contract review, contract and addendum drafting, terms and conditions review and drafting, litigation, arbitration and mediation. Jordan regularly fields inquiries from clients and advises them on the nuances associated with construction law, including bond claims, lien law, prompt payment law, and a broad variety of issues faced in the commercial construction field. Jordan has served as solo trial counsel in numerous matters and has also been lead attorney on multi-week arbitrations with damages in seven figures. He is a frequent lecturer on construction related issues.
Jordan also engages in general commercial litigation and has appeared in courts from the north country to the boroughs of New York City. He has significant experience in both prosecuting and defending actions and has handled litigation concerning commercial lease disputes, fraudulent transfers, torts, contested bankruptcy matters, insurance coverage disputes, petitions to vacate arbitration awards, among many others. His practice also includes substantial experience in appellate court matters. He has argued before the New York Court of Appeals and is admitted to practice before the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Jordan also counsels municipalities on drafting and compliance with local laws, general municipal law, SEQR, state finance law, competitive bidding, contract negotiation, article 78 proceedings, land use, and various other issues.
